Jazz Band

Two jazz bands at MICDS meet after school and perform music of the "Big Band" era as well as contemporary jazz. Jazz Band I features the most experienced and proficient players who are chosen by audition. Jazz Band II is for younger players who are also chosen by audition. Each band performs on and off campus several times a year. Instrumentation is limited to sax, trumpet, trombone, bass guitar or string bass, piano, guitar, and drums. Membership in each band is based on audition or the director's invitation to participate.
