Design (Grades 10, 11, 12)
This course offers students a wide variety of creative experiences and materials. Studio projects are based on the design elements of Design, Color Theory and the Elements of Composition, Materials include both two dimensions and three-dimensional. Major artists serve as a source for analysis and inspiration. This course requires flexible thinking and imagination. Students will work individually and in small group from time to time. The first part of the course is a series of Studio Projects designed to clarify the content of the course. The second part of the course is a series of open-ended problems designed to allow students to explore and interpret the course content. At the end of the course each student will have a portfolio of their work which is the result of the process and the product. No special drawing skills are necessary.
